Product inspection is vital for the safety of the consumer and to protect brand reputation. ​Metal is the most usual foreign body contaminant and so metal detectors are used. X-Ray inspection is complimentary as it can detect most (not all) metals but also high density products such as stones, glass and HD plastics. Checkweighers will ensure the consumer gets the weights they should and you do not give away free product.
